Personal Statement:

I understand that a film/video is composed of numerous elements and each element adds to the overall quality of the product. I treat each aspect of the film making process with the same amount of respect, professionalism and attention. Too me, the editing is just as important as the cinematography, as the directing is just as important as the sound design.

We live in a world saturated in images, and in order for an image to stand out, it has to be extraordinary.  From the opening frame to the final composition, I want my video work to amaze the viewer with beautiful and relevant visuals. My knowledge of symbolism, art and photography is very useful for video work. Most of my favorite films feature exceptional cinematography and symbolism. The films of Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Jean Luc-Godard, Andrei Tarkovsky, Terrence Malick, Fedrico Fellini, and Martin Scorsese are notable examples of my influences.

Because of my lifelong admiration of music and my eclectic and varied tastes in the art form, I understand rhythm, tone, harmony and form very well. I can employ these musical precepts to my videos, in the form of editing and sound design. If the content of a video calls for a fast paced and exciting rhythm or a slow and enchanting pace, I can adapt accordingly. Regardless of the video content (whether it be for a wedding event, party, musical concert, documentary, training video etc.) the viewers will not be bored and will view a very professional and fresh piece of work.

Ode to meditation
(INDEPENDENT WORK 2011)

The wanderer, I had left the womb and traveled afar, on a nimbus cloud into the outer reaches of the world.  Searching for the jewel of childhood, I peered into ten thousand things.  Nine out of ten times, I saw a reflection that I could not bare, but I continued on my lonely voyage never placing a veil over my eyes.  One Sunday morning, after a storm carried me swiftly to the top of an inverted elm tree, I sat and waited for someone to help me down.

The lonely wanderer, I waited for three days. It was after I softened my grip on expectation, in the great stillness of concentration that I made a friend. It sang a sound that lifted me off the treetop and towards a waterfall in a secret garden. “Look into the pond” it said. I obeyed in all modesty.

As I bowed my head, and stared into the water three paces in front of me, I saw you. I saw I. I saw nothing and everything. I saw eternity. I saw love. Since then, I no longer wander. I no longer wonder. I walk the narrow path daily, into the secret garden of intimacy

Woman of Grace
(INDEPENDENT WORK 2011)

I saw her resting in a valley near an abundance of tributaries , where angels sing the songs that only angels sing. Those nimble fingers collect fruit and bread daily, so she can give unto others consistently. This boomerang lover, eyes wide open, and her eyes are so placid, can you imagine the things she can imagine? Freedom as her soul cries out for rain.

Soul burns slowly, river streams flow from the seams of her skin, bathing all around you, with the fountain of vivacity. Her lovely life. She is a seer. With  he lovely light. That sweet, sweet lovely light.

She  emerged from deep and dark waters, like a lotus flower blooming  through the surface petals stretched forth for the sun’s mighty rays, which with great pleasure, met her halfway, and lovingly embraced her delicate details. This elegant Doe, this patient mother to be, unraveled like a ball of yarn.  Oh what a day, what a day when she became a bride. Revived and forgiven,  as those shackles crumbled and she soared towards infinity.

She plays no part in those lovesick lullabies, seducing the weak and withered into a ball and chain trance.  Self aware and self assured,  the self was the baggage she left behind on her journey to the mountaintop. Left behind as she ventured toward the glory, the cradle of the Lord’s right hand, as the thunder was roaring.

More precious then rubies, more precious then a Diamond. Her voice is sweeter then the music of Xylophone. Words from her heart fill the air with sincerity, like a harp string melody or the sweet sounds of samba, a peaceful dream on a pink spring morning.

She is the bird from the good book fluttering high, sent from eternity. A water colored  film strip gravitating towards the good promise of yesterday and tomorrow which she welcomes with laughter. Dignified purity, even when the cold wind blows, an amber veil clothes her center.  Beauty is fleeting, charm is deceptive, but her nobility and veneration of GOD is praiseworthy.

I saw her resting in a valley, near a chrysanthemum field,  where angels sing the songs that only angels sing.  This lovely woman, this creature of the light. This joyful messenger. This mother to be. My future wife. This holy queen.
